Skidding and Cellphones
So I'm getting the hang of this whole skidding thing, right? Jamming my business against my handlebars turns out to be a good time actually.
Problem is, I've been accustomed to keeping my cellphone in my front pocket. And sometimes it gets the brunt of the pedals force pushing against my handlebars.
Of course I can't simply learn from my mistake by shattering the screen of just one cellphone, I have to do it twice in a 24-hour period. Aren't you proud of me?
The results:
My blatantly obvious solution:

as of late i've come to think of my "skips" a little differently.
yeah, you could lock up the wheel for a few feet to slow down
but regardless of how long, to me thats a "skid"
only when you shorten the distance of the skidding tire, and alternate your forward pedal does it become a "skip"
left
right
left
right
left
if done with a little practice, it can actually look like your skipping along (ala loopdy do loopdy da) the pavement with your bike
at least thats how i see it

Ouch! The phone on the left looks expensive. Hope you didn't start with the cheapo Nokia and then killed the 3G phone after that...
BTW, the skid world record is 337 ft on dry asphalt, average of two atttempts, from opposing directions. https://www.superskid.com/record.php Anyone up to the challenge? i think he used a brake. Boooo

I don't use my cellphone holster in the winter because I find that the cold makes the display all weird. I keep it in my bag
