Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Ditto. I already told my fiance my (dangerous sounding) plan.

"I'm going to do a race in New York City in March."
"Correct, I've never been there by myself before."
"I will get there on a bus."
"Oh, and you can't use brakes on your bike."

I figure if I give her about 3 months to get used to the idea, she'll be more accepting when the time comes.

eff pedestrians too.... no I'm serious. They've been the cause of about half of my accidents and most on them don't even care.

btw... anybody catch bostontrevor in http://mysite.verizon.net/vze3vsmk/id10.html this gallery? he's in the middle on on the left.

lots of us bikers point out that car drivers have a higher burden of responsibility (that, all too frequently, they are ignorant to), given the fact that we are biking, and they are encased in a ton of metal.

when it comes to pedestrians, we have a higher burden of responsibility, because we're going faster and are more maneuverable. especially if we run red lights.

that's true, but still pisses me off when the j-walk without looking right infront of you... or when you're blasting down the road and despite the don't walk sign and my green light two group of peds cross the street at the same time, leaving you nowhere to go but a curb or into them. They do this in boston... I get it every effing day.

That said, what he did was not necessary and I do not agree with it.

the first intro is sweet. service elevator at the daily news building, i think. all-black low-contrast hanging out scene? not so cool.

well...pedestrians who are jumping out into the street J-walking without paying attention deserved to be scared by a biker now and then...but when 's their right of way and they are in the crosswalk, and they are avoidable, why close cut them by half a foot, when you can at least give them a couple of feet

the video doesn't really promote much... I couldn't tell that its for monstertrack except for the few info in words at the beginning... and whoever edited it had too much fun with the editing program. Using filters like he's new to photoshop.(maybe he is)

Oh and the scaring the lady thing was kinda an assh*le thing to do.

just watched that promo vid. nyc riders are hardcore as ****!!! i'm so horrified of traffic and they go in and out of moving cars, and right through streets where traffic is flowing through, without even slowing down. i think i have some kind of mental block as far as being crazy like that goes. i'll probably always be the guy who stops for traffic rather than assuming traffic will stop for me :\ it must be awesome to be able to ride like that. *daydreams*

Hey, look, it's me. I suspect I'm quite drunk in that photo... that seemed to be the theme of the weekend.
