Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I see no reason for mt NOT to go, so I'm in After mass though right? At least this time it's a Friday. Good way to get the weekend started.

k... so who's all going to mass? and more importantly, who wants to meet up?

would love to bowl afterwards but don't really have to. though one of these days I want to to a bowling/pool/darts triathlon... or maybe pingpong rather than darts.

Meet steaktaco and I on the North East corner of the picasso. He will be on a yellow bike with goofy fenders. I'll be on an all blue bike with a black plastic fender.

sorry all—I was out furniture shopping and couldn't make it back in time. maybe no one came out looking for us cause it's raining anyway.

I was there, the weather was great, I loved it. SO relaxing to be surrounded by people on bikes so full of energy with rain falling from the sky.

just checked the forecast and it looks like cold & rain for the next week. oh well whatya expect. it's funny tho, up here folks seem to take the weather - which is way more snowy - in stride... but then again there are ski slopes... we went today and i didn't break any bones. good times.

but just so i don't derail this thread: for anyone who did go to the Mass tonite, how was the organization (or lack thereof).. cuz the last one i went to was even more lax than usual, to the point of a structural meltdown (i.e. ride starting way late, circling daley plaza several times, blocking traffic to the extreme, mass breaking apart into isolated groups). kind of turned me off to the idea.

I cut out at some point, but there was a map provided, though the ride didn't really follow it. We did leave on time, and even after the route had changed from the map it was fine. The mass stuck together, but then again it was smaller than normal, so this was easier.
