wild nyc bike experiance

so iam new to the fixed gear bike as i have been riding a single speed these
last few years in nyc. iam going home late saturday night around 2am,and my left foot
shoelace somehow got wrapped around the pedal. with my foot in the clip i couldnt pull
it out and i fell over to my left away from traffic but was still unable to pull my foot out
of the pedal. a passerby in a nice pimped out bentley asked me if i was ok or needed
help and i said i needed a hand getting my foot out of the pedal. he stopped his car
and helped me pull my foot out. as soon as that happens two suv's one black and one
a silver bmw pull into the intersection and light it up with blue and red lights. these are
of course undercover cops but who pops out of the cars are 8 hasidic jews who were
apparently all undercover cops. they flashed me badges and asked if i needed ems.
i said no that i was ok and they all immediatly got back in their cars and sped off very fast.
it was really wild and surreal but the important part was me and my bike were ok.
tonight iam going home on the same street and i see a big fight 3 on 1 and a cat was getting
really messed up being held by two guys and hit in the head with a fire exinguisher, no cops
in sight.
only in ny

That's some crazy sh*t my friend... Big cities do tend to give birth to the absurd on a massive scale... did you call the cops for the fight? And was there two fights going on 1) three on one with people and 2) two guys hitting a cat with a fire extinguisher? Or by cat do you mean one cool ass MFer dressed in a zoot suit? I'm slightly confused. Either scenario is ****ed up tho and I hope all came out relatively unscathed.

there was one fight 3 guys beating the hell out of one man so i called the cops but the brother
looked like he was splitting as did the agressors. i split as well, as by cat i mean in the world
of the nyc jazz scene thats what we call each other "cats" means like the same as a person.

I wonder if the guy that stopped was a diplomat or something, and the undercover cops his security detail?

he seemed like a rapper or something
he had a diamond $ sign chain and a fur coat on.
really nice to stop and get out of the car though.
who knows what the cops were all about,it was all over from start
to finish in less then 3 minutes.

That's why I was thinking it was a security detail. But crayonsemble seems to contradict that... So I'm kind of out of ideas on it...

They are not cops, they are private security that work for jewish communities, but spread out and deal with issues in those areas.

sishi, i know they aren't actually cops in the NYPD sense, that's why i put "police force" in quotes... but they are individuals employed to police the hassidic neighborhood. there used to be a lot of issues with them harassing/beating up puerto rican kids in areas where the two populations overlapped

NP, I work in Midwood and they almost run me over on a daily basis, but yeah, they are better cops than the cops.
