NYC bike messenger girls video
my gf and i watched it twice last night and really enjoyed it.
i searched this forum, didn't find it on here, so i thought i'd post it. the girl who made the video a few years ago linked it on a myspace forum (i know, i know), so i figured she wouldn't mind. if she's on here, NICE WORK, its great!
www.sketchspace.com
its about 10 minutes long i think. it's called "Even the Girls!" by Ashira Siegel. enjoy.

ashira is awesome. ...I don't think she's on here, but she'd be delighted to know that there's a whole thread just about her film.

Hey Ken
Yeah I finally decided to get on this thing.....
I think that video was good, but bias..like most documentaries there is alwasy an overtone of some sort used to portray the idea across even though its all real ..editing and personal biases come into play which can hinder a documentary.....I like Herzog's approach to documetaries or even better Jean Pierre Gorin..he is the best at showing and portraying an unbiased documentary without sounding preachy and such.....yeah this is a tanget on bikes but its a film on bikes.
A film about bikes
and bikes in a film are two different things.

i enjoyed it. the only thing i wasn't too keen on was the filter used on the credits footage. i would've enjoyed seeing some of that riding a little more clearly.

this must be kinda old. old-school krypto-locks, odd-job on 14th street. i don't mind 220 e 42nd street (the daily news building, designed by raymond hood, architect of the american radiator building and rockefeller center) that much. it's actually kind of cool. you take an old gated freight down 1 story, and you have to operate it yourself, opening and closing the doors. that girl is really slick at locking up to mailboxes. always takes me forever.
cool. thanks for sharing.
