Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

so i'm making a trip down there and was wondering if anyone know where i can track frames or other track parts in this country. Since it's so close to japan, thought they might have good decent stuff for cheap. any info is greatly appreciated. thanks and merry christmas/ happy holidays to all.

I doubt Singapore has much in the way of track. There's a poster on here who's from there and he orders things from Business Cycles.

Having lived in Malaysia for a while (right next door to Singapore), getting around on bike is not a very common thing. You're apt to see hundreds of scooters and cars, and plenty of people walking along Orchard Road but bike stuff is hard to find. It's been 7 years since I've last been so things might have changed, but I doubt it.

If you do find anything, please post. It'll be interesting to read about.

Now why the heck would you want one of those saddles? have you seen one up close? It is just a (nice) piece of perferated leather on top of an ABS shell, no padding and no chance of it molding to your butt (like a brooks). It does look smashing in white w gold trim, but it is nasty old stuff.

Not sure mate, will be my first time there. But really would not be holding my breath until toyko. I expect Malaysia to be working bike oriented vice our breed of bling. proximity does not set price, demand does, or the lack of demand will too. will post reports of toyko after I get back.
