Jandd Hurricane bags?
I can't believe I'm starting a bffg thread about bags...
I searched the forums and couldn't find anything useful in the past several months on this.
Does anyone here have a Jandd Hurricane bag, or has anyone used it? How do you like it? What's good/bad about it?
Please don't rec. that I get a Chrome, Reload, Baileyworks, Timbuk2, etc (enter other brand here.) I just got a pro-deal offer with Jandd and was wondering if I should pick one of them up super cheap.

I have one. It's lasted me many years, but I needed something bigger so I got a Reload. Better quality than Timbuk 2 to be sure. I should probably put it up on craigslist but I'm too lazy. The buckle never gave me any trouble, and I carried some pretty heavy stuff in it.

I've had mine all over the world the past 2 years and like it. Wearing like iron. The cam buckle works fine, its just inefficient for cinching the bag up more. For letting it drop its great though.

I've had an Iniki for like a year and its going strong, the price was certainly right compared to getting the equivalently sized bag from another company. I am not a total fan of the buckle and rather prefered the metal buckle on the Manhattan Portage bag but I wanted the stabilizer strap. I am now eyeing a Reload Executive as a compromise between looking professional while still having a good sturdy bag.

I have a Jandd Gabriel. I use it primarily for commuting though. I really like it. It's sans clam buckle too.

This has not been my experience. The buckle actually works great, I have used mine every day for five years, carrying heavy stuff, cold weather, the whole shebang. The bag is completely waterproof too, I have set it in puddles a few times and no leaks. The only criticism I have of this bag is the shoulder pad (I have the smaller, 1st gen variety) and that it is somewhat heavy, although I think that is due to a thick liner. Also, way the internal pockets are attached causes the top 1.5" of the bag to roll over if you fill them with heavy things, which causes no problems unless you are trying to fit a huge object that requires the bag's full capacity. This has never been a problem, just a quirk in the design that I would change if I had my way.

Okay, it's settled. I ordered one of the big mofo's. Really couldn't beat the price. I've also got two industrial sewing machines in my shop, so I suppose I could always put on whatever strapping system I want if this one is no good...
