Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

old japanese cranks

Hey, I have a friend in japan right now who offered to go part hunting for me, i was wondering what i should have her look for? Suntour, Shimano, any others? I'm looking for nice vintage if I can...

She already found me some double toe straps for 35 bucks because the old guy who ran it thought I was some American Keirin racer...

Keirin-related stickers, patches, etc. Seriously - stuff like that is always cool.

I have some old (late 70's, probably) Suntour Superbe track components that are pretty nice. They look a lot like Campy Nuovo/Super Record of the same period: fluted crank arms, etc. Maybe not as "hot" as the 80's superbe pro stuff, but nice if you like the vintage look.
