46x17 I apologize for hijacking this thread, especially since I just realised that your post was in regards to Mary and not Midge (I can't even blame alchohol for this one). My friend recently put some Mary bars on his fixed Fat Chance. Loves them. He mounted his upside down for a lower position. Works well and looks cool. Give it a try if you don't mind having the graphics upside down.

Anyone mount Mary backwards? You know, with the bars swept forwards sort of like bull horns but pointing out more towards the side.

I've run Mary bars for most of 2005, first on a Gunnar SS and currently on an ibis Mojo.
I find them to have comfort, multiple hand positions and less strain on my wrists on longer rides.
On singletrack they have a nice point and shoot position for me. Work with the positioning to see what works best for you. Try them level and with the grips angles down.
Mounted normally they have some rise to them. Mounted upside down works fine if you need to drop the height.
That said, I still use flat and riser bars on my other bikes. i adapt to what i ride pretty easily.

So I mounted them and added some keirin grips.
First impressions. They are very different/weird. Not sure what to think of them yet.
Interesting for sure. I like the position changes they offer. You have a fast forward and a laid back cruising postion. On the other hand, they do make the leg over the bar skid trickier. I will need to ride them some more to make a conclusive statement.

not to hijack this thread but it seems as if many fixie riders are also climbers and boulderers. the comapny i work for has 3 or 4 pretty serious climbers out of maybe 12 riders. i personally find the physical and the mental abilities required for both to be very similar also the simplicity of riding a track bike and bouldering seem similar as well.

Alright tested some more and in conclusion they are not suiteable for my riding style.
Back to risers! I can see how they would work on certain setups though. Bar is very well made and I do appreciate that OnOne tries experiments!
