Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What axle for a TA crank?

So I've got a TA track crank set in my parts box. It has a square taper hole, but it doesn't exactly seem to fit Campy or Shimano axles. What did those weird French do for axle taper, and is this crank close enough to shoehorn it onto either of the aforementioned axles?

I have a set too. Dunno what's up with them but it seemed to fit on a campy bb. Give it another shot and see if it works.

Bicycle Specialties up here in Toronto still has NOS T.A. B.B.'s to fit your cranks, and i believe they do mail order. I wouldn't use anything else except maybe Phil?

According to Peter White, TA and current Campy BB's are interchangeable...and he mentions using Phil BB with TA cranks on his crank page...

I bought the Axix Light for my TA Alize Pista crank last year and am happy with it thus far...
