But I honestly can't decide. After reading a large number of bag threads, I am fairly certain that I want either the Bailey Works x-large superpro, or the ReLoad Deluxe. The problem is that I have never actually SEEN either of these two bags. I have absolutly no idea how the strap on the Bailey works, and their site only gives a drawing of the bag. I don't know, I guess I am just indecisive...can anyone give me a reason to spent 10 more dollars on the reload?

The strap on the BW is hot. I've seen it in action and the bag is sharp looking.

I rock a chrome though.

get the bailyworks. I promise, it's better.

also, if you don't like it, the strap is reversable, so the sucker who buys it can rock it left or right shoulder.

the strap is also super comfortable, and totally replaceable.

im really happy with my reload deluxe. its funny because the first few days your have it, your drooling over how damn big the thing is, but after those first days, it then seems alot smaller, from the eyes, but physically, it is still huge.

delay if you get the baileyworks I would be interested in seeing it sometime because I am contemplating getting one as well

bailey works has the reflective material on the flap, and I believe on the bottom of the bag also. Reload does not, keep that in mind. Im sure you could pay a couple extra bucks to have reload put a strip of reflective material on the flap or bottom. Also, take into consideration reload is all backed up now(unless you get a custom stock bag) because of the holidays. It usually takes 4 weeks. Bailey works will have yours to you in a week. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Thanks for the link to the pictures. I don't think I made it through all those pages of that thread. On looking at it, it seems that the Large is pretty damn large, and the x-large might be rediculous.

i have no complaints about my reload. the ballistic nylon double bottom is a good feature if you want to never buy another bag again.

I'm not sure I buy into the ballistic nylon thing. I've been using messenger bags for well over half my life, and I've never worn out the cordura before I've worn out the lining.

i use mine for things like sledding down rocky hillsides, though.

I have had A Bailey bag for the past 5 years or so and the things are damn good. However, the inside pocket that it has just sucks. It always would get in the way when I would try to put packages inside. I tought that over time I would overcome this little obstacle but it still plauges me to this day. But othe then that it's all just swell.

I was lucky enough to get a Bailey XL for christmas and i love it. The only other bag i have experience with is a medium timbuk2, so i cant really say how it stacks up to others. yes, it is gimormous and i love every cubic inch. Its really comfortable and carries a load well. i highly recommend a bailey works.

I rock a North Face bookback...'s about 9/10 years old, and still works really well. It stays on my back, and is about as comfortable and unlopsided as it gets.

it's simple. ask yourself this:

do you intend to use the product to its fullest? do you really need that bag for whatever it is you're gonna use it for?

I am not a messenger. I have used various back packs over the years, mostly commuting to work before I retired, and they were ok if I used the waist strap to prevent them from flying over my head during a quick stop. Just this fall, I bought a medium size Timbuk2 and it is much better than any of the backpacks. It carries the weight lower and is just more stable and comfortable. I should add that I don't carry a lot of weight in it... workout stuff to the gym, a few groceries... like that. Might be different if it was full of books.

i've gotta agree with you on the timbuk2. Granted, i've never used any other brand of messenger bag; but I've had mine for 7 years, as a bookbag during college, and now as my daily commuter bag. Besides looking a little dirty and faded it's as good as new.
I did try switching which shoulder I sling it over today for the first time- bad move. I felt lopsided the whole ride into work.

flip a coin, I went with the Bailey XL, happy with it, but I'm sure I would be with the Reload as well. The XL is not as enormous as some people here will make it out to be. It's big, but I manage to fill mine up all the time. If you are mad skinny I think the Reloads might be a touch better, the Bailey's reversible shoulder design means that you can't quite get the bag as tight as you might like when the bag is empty. I use/need the cross strap more when the bag has nothing in it than when its full up. On the other hand the Bailey's has the buckle to release the bag (similar the chrome, but not a freakin seatbelt buckle) it's a pretty nice feature although I wouldn't really call it essential or a deal breaker. Never had any issues with the inside pockets, perhaps the design has changed?

And yeah, not the read the trolls, but Timbuk2s are decent bags, but there is no way they really can compare to the Bailey's.
