stick with your 50 dollar pair until they fall apart. then get another. or spend a little more, but not much.

There is a noticable difference between the $50 and the $200 pairs... I just don't know if it's worth the price tag. I have both

I have never had any regrets about spending money on quality shoes. there's a difference between $50 specialized shoes and $300 Sidi's, IMO. I absolutely love my Sidi's - they always last me many years, are very comfortable, and are plenty stiff for riding but also allow me to walk around and be comfortable.

$200 shoes pros: very stiff soles, good fit, good construction

cons: sometimes look goofy, very stiff soles makes it uncomfortable to walk more than a block. often have narrow sole which makes seem like you have heels on. soles are often really hard rubber or plastic so don't have very good grip on hard slippery surfaces.

unless you spend an hour or more a day riding your bike and don't walk much when not riding, they are ok, otherwise go for the cheaper ones. you can usually get good deals on shoes on ebay. just make sure you them on in a store before you get em off ebay. some manufactures sizing is a little off.
