Hello, my Karate Monkey is working quite well--it's an atb-style frame though, not the "unicycle with a trailer attached" geometry of a track bike

so I will be purchasing some stuff and need to know what is important, for fixie flair

any tips are appreciated

white belt, black jeans, chrome bag...

Seriously, tho, what are you trying to do? Make it pretty, or lighter/faster? Or both?

The only thing essential about "fixed gear culture" is that you should swear up-and-down how much more reliable your gear is compared to "broken" bikes, but you should post at least once a week about how your rims/hubs/cog self-destructed on you. Also, you get to dress like a Krusty Punk and run super-comfortable 700X20c tyres.

Seriously, though, it seems like a Karate Monkey is just begging for Nitto Moustaches, Zig.

yeah, with brown leather brooks tape

I saw a sycip java boy with moustache bars, I might try them--I even considered Jones H bar, but those are more $$$ than I wanna spend

I think a rear seatpost-mount rack would be advisable as well

I still have decal removing to do--will leave the surly on the downtube though

nice bike so far, it's like a swiss army frame, it's got braze-ons for EVEYRTHING (which is annoying now, but might be cool if I decide on another config for the bike)

have you considered midge bars? i'm itching to get my hands on a pair, since i keep hearing so many good things.

moustaches are pretty awesome too though. i've been doing single-track with my crosscheck on moustaches, and they're fun.

I'll post some, I've had it for about 6 months

it has easton black seatpost, bars and stem and they have these yellow/orange graphics on them

how to remove?

I had a ti seatpost and used acetone to dissolve, but those were decals, and I think acetone would remove paint on alum or steel bits

my bars are different, but the logos are like these below I want them OFF

My friend just took a hairdryer and his thumb nail to his surly decals.

that stuff can be taken care of with oven cleaner, or so i hear. i don't know how much i personally trust it, because i'm sure that it does take off some metal, but it's hard to say how much.

It's not a poll.

It's a laundry list for bored trolls.

And it keeps getting bumped. Stupid hipsters.
