damaged lockring please shoot me

so i go to change cogs on a second hand, but not old, formula hub. i put my stupid park lockring tool on (and yes i did a search, and yes, i now know why everyone hates on this tool) the stock formula lockring, apply pressure, and poof! the f-ing tool levels the f-ing notch in the butter soft f-ing lockring. so what do i do, i put the tool on the other side and did the same goddamn thing. WTF is my deal? why why why. i know this tool is not the best, but i've used it with no problems on my DA lockring a couple times. are the formula lockrings just crap, and am i completely screwed? is there any way to get this off, or am i stuck with that cog forever? any help much appreciated...

try using channel-lock pliers, or a pipe-wrench to get the ring off.

if that doesn't work, you can try CAREFULLY cutting a couple of notches in the ring with a dremel, and then prying it off in pieces.

Use a hammer and a chisel, or a screwdriver and carefully tap the lockring off. [Make suure you are going the right way, though!]

Buy a new dura ace lockring immediatley, and a good lockring tool while you are at it.
