Hub Problem?
i have a flip/flop hub on and i ride a free wheel on my single speed bike . But yesterday when i unlocked my bike and tried to ride it but the chain keep on going but the back wheel isnt...the sprocket is moving but the wheel is not....i want to fix it tonoght so i can go home tommmorow..there is no bike shop here...so i can get it fixed.i need help thanx

The pawls inside the freewheel are either broken or stuck. They could be stuck if it is very, very cold, or if there is lots of gunk in them. Have you abused this bicycle? They could be broken if the freewheel is trash, or very very old.

its bin very cold ..it was sitting out all night....i m very careful with the bike when i ride...so can i fix it somehow

I had the same problem on my single speed a while back. chances are the threads on the inside if the free wheel got stripped some how. if not that it could be the treads on the hub. if it is indeed the free wheel all u need to do is get a new one and put it on. That's what happened to me and it took all of five minutes to get the new one and fix it (luckily i was on my way to the shop when it happened)

i doubt that anything is stripped. blow the freewheel with a hair dryer, and smack it around some. most likely the pawls are frozen in place.

try the stuff you use to de-ice your locks. Then oil the hell out of it.
