Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Not sure if this is what the other poster was referring to but
NPR was talking about Baboons this morning..... It was about
Alpha male Baboons getting the crap kicked out of them once
they get old. The baboons that were formerly lower on the
totem pole would remember how the alpha beat them up and
would do revenge beatdowns. Maybe that's what the poster
was talking about.

It will be my first race in Philly as well, so I am no doubt stoked. Hopefully my friends won't punk out and actually ride since they've been complaining about the weather.
