Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? On my first feeble attempt at bicycle commuting on a borrowed bike, the crank arm fell off! After trying to pedal one footed (No proper cleated shoes/pedals) I walked to work in fury and shame.

Now, I'm packing the Crank Bros. mini tool, tubes, zip ties, velcro, pump, assorted allen wrenches, etc...

I'd pack a full Auto Mechanic's tool chest and an air compressor on the bike if I could figure out how to balance it all.

The jethro tool is pretty freaking handy. https://www.surlybikes.com/stuff/pop_jethro.html. I carry tools for fixing just about everything. Except when I carry nothing at all, like in Chicago.

Yep, I'm a nerd.
almost the exact same stuff as me. i carry mine in my bag in a reinforced (w/ packing tape all over) ziploc bag so the wrench doesn't poke through.
i wouldn't file off the box end of my 15mm wrench because it's good for removing/installing pedals when traveleling with a bike box.

word to that, brunning. those campy wrenches are the bomb. before i scammed one of those i was rocking the surly. pretty sweet, keychain hole, bottle opener, all the goodies.

upon further consideration, i guess it's pretty useless to carry a wrench, as i haven't carried a tube, or inflation device for months

It depends on the size of the cartridge. I think the 16g ones go up to around 130psi.
