Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Huh

I have been lurking here for quite some time, and have discovered that many a folk here are so damn ignorant it's painful at times. Some people that post are basically asking how to build their bike up, down to the color of their headset, or the style/size bag they ride. be creative and do research, it's not so hard. . . . .the stupid questions are beginning to wear on me. . .

yeah, this forum has basically become a redundant blog about a bunch of crap; it used to be a great resource for information. It has become a vomit spewing **** show.

i agree money is hard to come by. but i take issue with all the subjective irrelevant bul**** that takes place on this forum. A forum should be a place for relevant 411, not a place where you allow someone to opionate on which color PHIL hub you should buy or which chrome bag you should get to match your deep v's. . . . . .

it doesnt bother me that you posted this. its how you feel so whatever.
personally i dont think it helps/solves anything. youre probably just gonna be told to shove it.
people are going to post what they want to post about. you dont have to like it but complaining about it isnt gonna get you very far

this is a thread that i use as a resource. . . .typically i dont post messages because i am still learning and don't see the need in asking many questions because most answers are there in older posts. however, the fact that this has become a forum of trend, makes me angry. i feel as though alot(not all) are here for the wrong reasons. . . .i'll go read more sheldon, shants, etc. . . . .late

There is so much to edit here. Perhaps some of you will edit your posts before I get to them. Less warnings = less bannings. Unless any of you wants to go without your BF fix for 48 hours.

No more telling us what you eat, and no more inappropriate culinary suggestions for others. The buffet comment was creative, but that's getting edited too.

Thanks.

i dunno,

i agree with your search for relevancy....

I think there are some things every fixed gear rider should know, like how to skid and how to trackstand.

What's also nice to know is that formula hubs, sugino 75 cranks, and Chrome bags are bulletproof. Not that Phil Hubs, Grand Mighty cranks, and Reload bags don't offer more, but that you aren't wasting money on the previous. Frankly, when I drop2 benjamins, I want to know I'm, getting my money's worth.

Judge individuality as you meet someone, not based on forum responses. Frankly, if they're riding fixed who cares about the details?!?

Im the only fixed rider in my town. And I see nothing wrong with coming on here and shoting the breeze and talk about the new crap yu just got or thinking about getting. How many questions you can ask about a bare bones track bike.
