attn: tall riders
i am looking for a good comfortable track frame preferably with a 1 1/8 headtube. It's hard to find anything thats reasonably priced and comes in sizes around 63-65cm. does anyone know any companies that sell larger frames or have any frames that they're trying to sell that are this size? (i searched the forums and couldn't find anything).

I have a Steamroller frame that I'm building up now - 62c-c st, 61c-c tt. I'm currently riding a 64cm c-t road frame with a 59.5tt and a 140 stem, so this should be a step up. I've got a long torso and arms but normalish legs (35" cycling inseam).
The Fuji track in the largest size, at least for the year of the gold-colored ones had a 61cm tt, but a 1" threaded fork comes with it, or did. I'd imagine they're still like that.

thanks, i looked at both surly and fuji before and i like surly's frames more than fuji, their welds look cleaner and stronger and the dropouts on the steamroller are nice.
it's just been hard finding a frame where i wouldn't have to lean uncomfortably when i ride. i mean i ride in an agressive stance but i like to be able to have my torso more vertical sometimes. being 6'5" sucks when it comes to finding a bike.

Spicer cycles has a 62cm aluminum frame, and steel frames which go up to 64- I'm 6'2", and ride one of their 60cm frames, so a 62 might work well for you.
talk to gene at spicercycles.com- he's happy to help out with fit issues.
He's also done some huge custom frames, if you decide to go that direction.

seriously, they'd get you a little more upright, and you could throw in a shorter stem while you're at it... (or move your seat forward, but too far and it looks awful).
also - Surly puts out some rad bikes. I've got two and love em both.

i'm 6'6" and i ride a 2006 fuji track 61cm with riser bars on it, it's a little too small for me but i make do, i ride in a really aggressive position with 2 and a half fists of seat post showing and the stem all the way down with riser bars, and it's comfortable or me, i haven't had a problem yet.

I'm 6'7" on a 62 IRO and I'm all legs. Pretty small, but I mainly use it for shorter rides around the city and going to the bar.. just because it is a solid bike. Plus skidding on a tiny frame is fun as hell.
I have a 68cm Fuji conversion that fits me like a glove, but since it's old and I've had to re-braze the seat stays twice, I avoid riding it as much as possible. Maybe when I get money I can get something new that fits me.

i'm pretty sure https://www.zinncycles.com/ specializes in tall people bikes, but i think you would have to custom order a track frame.
i'm 6'4", but prefer a slightly smaller frame with a bit more seat post and stem length. i like a 58 or 59 c-c seat tube on track or 'cross frames... but i also think my legs are a bit short for my height...

I'm 6'2" and I ride anything from a 60 to a 62cm frame. The Steamroller I just sold was a 62cm, my Pista is a 61, and my Benotto road conversion is a 61.5cm. I've got my eyes on a 59cm Giordana track frame that's sized at 59cm. Just a wee bit smaller but the LBS(One on One) says that it will fit me just fine. I have yet to take it for a test ride, boy I can't wait........
My first ride when I moved here was a 57cm. I had the seatpost raised pretty high but it was a good ride nonetheless.

Then I look at my commuter bike with the mega post and drop stem and go, wow, that's so much nicer.
Then I look at my mtn bike with a sloping tube and rise stem and go, grrrr, tough, wow, that's so much nicer.
Tall people's bikes look cooler. I was happy to see that gigantic Nagasawa on fgg.
