Miche cranks are gorgeous

I just had to post to say it. The pictures you see online just can't do them justice - they're really polished, practically glowing.

Wow.

Now I get why everyone is obsessed with track cranks.

The only thing this nicely finished I have to compare it to is a campy crank - I immediately noticed that the machining on the chainrings was just so perfect and clean, compared to the nonames, shimanos, mecs and others that I've had. Like the campy, all the surfaces are perfect, not a hint of flash, etc. Interestingly, the graphic looks pretty cheaply done, like it was just rubber-stamped on there, but I hardly notice, with all the glint and glow from the aluminum.

Just so pretty. I was suspicious as this is the cheapest track crank. Wow, it only goes up from here?

I totally agree... it's just unfortunate that their bb's suck.

...and the proprietary chainring sizes, and the threads for chainrings are integrated....

Even still, I think they are great.

...yeah, but the campy comes in 111mm (or 102mm for road)
and the miche cranks need a 107mm bb...

I thought so too, but these are more subtle; the ones they sent me are different than the others I'd seen, so I don't know whether they're older or newer.

travsi, i have a campy bb and perfect and silent chainline. given how close the back of my spider comes to my chainstay i imagine it's a 102mm (i bought them used from someone on the board). i've heard several folks recommend the miche/campy pairing, so i'm not alone in this, but i know for a fact that they are compatible and that perfect chaionline can be achieved.

shants, they're not as prominent as that photo suggests

yeah. I started with a 109 campy BB and now need a 102. nothing but 102 will match up with the chainline of miche cranks/ phil hubs. so one is on order. But the crank/BB combo is ****ing awesome.

I think these Miche road cranks are beautiful:

Yeah, yeah...not track. But compared to other road cranks, they're classy.

I have the same ones. I got mine in November. I asked about the graphics and they're new for the 2006 model. A lot more attractive IMO.

Yeaup,
those are the new graphics on those cranks.
Man... but the graphics on the old hubs were SOO much nicer. The logo was on the seal.
+ the hubs were more polished, Looked a LOT like dura-ace.
Now they look kinda dull. and the graphics on the new hubs are on the hub flange.
boo.

it was a tough decision for me between the miche and the sugino 75. the miche are damn sexy.

since i was able to score a 75 crankset and bb for $200 i went with them. i get the impression that their chainrings are better and are overall slightly better quality. if miche had a 144 bcd it would have been a totally different story though.
