Stem suggestions?

I'm building up my summer bike. I need to get a new stem. I've gone the threadless route, so I'm trying to decide on a 1 1/8" stem. Any preferences here...I've always liked the Cinelli ones, but they seem to be mostly 1". I'm using mostly used or NOS parts, so something that is readily available is choice.

I always thought the 3T Mutant (flip it upside down and it looks very phallic) was a cool stem for a track bike, or any Cinelli just about.

I like Ritchey WCS, and you can sometimes get good bargains on them on the bay. I think I paid $20 for mine, but it took a while to find one at that price.

thomson elite. they're stiff, reasonably light, and bulletproof.

i went with the regular elite in a 26, because i figured I could run 25.4 bars with a shim in addition to 26's.

I've been running 26 bars in a 25.4 removable faceplate stem for three years now without problems- a sheldon endorsed technique.

In a removable faceplate you're ok with a 25.4 in 26.0 clamp, but in my Nitto Technomics where the bolt has a shoulder on it to keep the single-bolt clamp from tightening past a certain point, its a bit sketchy. The bars have slipped a hair on one or two occasions. Its ok though, I live on the edge.

Another vote for the Thomson Elite. Also for the 31.8 standard is the X2 and X4. The X2 now comes in a 17 degree for anyone who likes a 0 rise stem.
