Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

MAVIC in the bay area? help.

So the first thing I don’t want to do when I wake up is be at work, obviously. It’s 8am, cold, and I’m without much hope for the rest of the day. The only saving grace here is coffee (thanks again adam kell). Well, this morning as I was approaching my building across the street I noticed two big yellow trailer trucks with Mavic logos on them. They are parked in the lot at the Hyatt here in wonderful, crummy Millbrae. Not only that, but it looked like a slew of other Team Vans were also parked in the lot as well. I couldn't spot logos, but all of them had bike racks on top. Does anyone happen to know if there is an event going on? I’d sure like to pop across the street and hang out with bike peoples (even if they do like brakes and gears). Does anyone who is in the area want to come with me to go snoop and investigate? The other times I have tried infiltrating the conference rooms of that Hyatt I’ve been removed from the premises or been threatened… Not so much fixed gear related, other than the track bikes I ride, etc.

Is there a race or conference or something in town?

Thanks all.
