NYC Vs. Critical Mass

None, the City of New York will continue to harrass, intimidate and destroy the personal property of individuals exercising their first amendment rights and right to free assembly.
This Judge has clearly stated that the city's injunction is without merit, but in typical Bloomberg-ian fashion city hall will ignore the ruling.

Wah, Wah...If the judge is serious he'll force the city to comply...either way critical mass is bad for bikes...and this should probably be in the advocacy forum.

NY Times article
Also keep an eye on
Bikeblog. They'll probably have a report back from the Times Up press conference that started half an hour ago.
Here's a PDF of the judge's actual ruling
As much as I'd like to think this is a victory, there've been plenty of victories. Every time this stuff goes to court, the judge says "City, you're an idiot. Stop harassing the bikers. I have deemed it illegal. And retarted" (paraphrased). But the city still does it.

I know a lot of people are taking legal action,
A friend of a friend is handling some of the critical mass lawsuits…I haven’t seen him in a while so I’m not sure if any progress was made.

Not yet. It was stalled due to the imediate nature of the Time's Up suit. If the city's appeal fails, then the lawyers representing the four in Time's Up are going to move on to our case about bikes taken in March 05. I know, I am one of those people involved in that case.
