Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

And then the rains came . . .

I didn't really want to go to class today. Now I'm sitting in a lecture that's been going for forty minutes with another two hours to go. And it rained this morning. And I thought it was done. And now, the thunder and the lightning have started. And my SS Nishiki conversion (which is a piece of ****, but which I dearly love because I built it myself and it's mine) is sitting outside, suffering, with the rain pouring down. I should have stayed home!

And I have to go to work after this lecture, so I'm not going to get to do much more than wipe the frame down before I put it away. I just overhauled the drivetrain because of slush and road salt a week or so ago -- when will this winter **** stop!?!?!?!?! Aaaaarrrgghhhhh! I'm taking the BB out tonight. I'm overhauling the whole thing and regreasing all of it! I'm totally overreacting. But man, this winter is warm, but it still sucks. I want a beer.

I feel your pain... I cleaned my ride a few days ago when I switched tires, and it's been clean so far (no precipitation), but I know it won't last long...

I don't have my fender on today, and I've been looking up at the cloudy sky all day

Rain? Try getting a couple of feet of heavy ****ing snow. And, oh yes, it's still snowing and will until approx. 3am tonight. Then tell me about rain.
