Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Isnt this a little over the top? (ebay prices)

I'm a miyata fan, and I like to keep track of the miyatas on ebay and craigslist, just for fun. So I was watching this auction of the miyata track frame that just ended. it was around $380 for awhile with the reserve not met, and then at the last minute, some guy shot the bid up to $699 (which met the reserve).

now, I don't know a lot about track frames, and maybe I'm just clueless as to the current market (inflated i would imagine), but isn't that a little on the crazy side? or am I just missing the boat here?

here is the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I sure wish we had a thread specifically designated to talk about ebay items and prices thereof...

That isnt a common model of miyata... thats the real racing stuff... i mean i think its overpriced too but thats good stuff... I had a miyata that never got to the US, I think it was sold only in japan and in Chile... all shimano dura-ace stock... even had tubulars... so it really do not surprise me that it was bid at that price...

Anybody wants my tesch track frame? heheh

thanks...
