Preferably Sugino for both. |

http://loosescrews.com/ Both have sugino chainring bolts. But the seatpost binder bolts they have are not sugino. |
Okay, so can anyone give me any feedback as to the benefits of alloy over steel?
|
From my own experience I have found that alloy may be lighter, but it usually wears quicker and in the end I usually wind up buying steel (thinking of chainring bolts).

cr and sp binder bolts are a horrible place to save weight. Alloy (aluminum. I hate that they use the word alloy...steel is a ****ing alloy) bolts are generally harder to tighten, less tolerant of over-tightening, easier to strip, and more likely to work themselves loose. I just had to drill out 3/5 alloy bolts because the bolts stripped (with proper tool and correct use.) On other bikes I've had to loctite alloy bolts to keep them from coming loose and deafening me with the creaking. YEMV.

know where I can get stainless stell cr bolts?
|
Okay, steel it is.
I didn't realize that Alloy=aluminum. I thought it meant some different grade of steel or something. |

I just ordered some Dura Ace cr bolts from Wilson's (distro from Hayward, any shop can order from them.) Retail should be around 20 bucks for the set, I think.

I'm gonna pick up some Sugino bolts from my LBS for about $12.
I don't know why Sugino 75s don't come with Sugino bolts. |

I've heard bad things about generic chainring bolts.
I've always used Sugino. Maybe I'm just gullible. |

Mud, Sweat and Gears.
It not coming with Sugino cr bolts was the least weird thing about that exchange. Do a search on "A Real Question" if interested. |
