Forte is Performance's house brand. Just rebadged stuff, mostly. Pretty good, all-in-all.

I have the Axis forks predecessor, the Allegro. It's a pretty good fork if not the lightest.
It's a good way to convert an old threaded stem up to threadless.

I like performance as a company, but I would get this fork instead.

I've got a Forte Pro SLX saddle that I adore. Also rode a 16-spoke front road wheel of the Performance Forte flavor for a while and liked it quite a bit.

i'm sure that the ritchey carbon is a higher quality fork but the forte comes with a headset, stem and spaces, if you already have said things(as in you're not converting from threaded to threadless) i would go for the ritchey, i mean i'm sure the headset isn't the best so that might come into consideration, i don't just wanted to point out the forte is a forkset or so it would seem

I no longer buy their house brand products because I've had one too many of them catastrophically fail on me. Most recently, I picked up some LOOK pedal clones in a pinch and had them repeatedly unclip while standing or putting any significant force during the upstroke... this was with the release tension at the highest setting. You can't beat Perfo's pricing deals and discounts, but buyer beware IMO.

Yeh. Thanks for the replys. The reason I'm buying this is because I want to ride a front brake. I kinda like the look of the Forte fork and I'm 1" threaded non-drilled. So I gotta redo the front (thats why I'm getting the fork, headset, stem, spacers)

I bought the bar tape once, it's really foamy. Feels kinda nice, but sucks more than usual if it gets wet. More durable than it looks, though.

I go out of my way to purchase their bar tape. No adhesive, makes re-wrapping much easier, no residue if you take it off. 5 dollars.

economical and solid.
However, with tools, their "spin Doctor" house brand would not be my first choice.
exception: their shop stand is as much as I'll ever need

Most of the house brand stuff is pretty good and for the price, can't be beat. I built up parts of my old road bike with supergo stuff which is pretty much the same as the forte and they were great. Aero carbon seatpost, stem, bars. Not the lightest parts but you can't really expect that with those kind of prices.
