Bianchi Pista Concept questions...
Yep...I'm already looking for a new bike. I was on ebay today (I've got time on my side) and saw two my size Bianch Pista Concepts for sale. I love the look of them and have never seen them in Richmond so I thought it'd be cool to bring something new to the area. How bad of an idea would it be to use one of these as an every day bike. It will daefinently see some race time on the roads here(rva sprintclub) and if I'm luck some track time in the future...but its main purpose would be too be a cool bike to ride around town.. Bad idea(worst than ramming a kerin bike into a toyote tercel)? Waste of money? Help me out guys...

i'd rock it... but i don't really have a educated answer on the aluminum, other than my road bike (geared) is aluminum and it's held up for just fine. i figure it will hold up fine, just might be a little more bumpy ride than the forgiving steel.

There is a store in pourcellville, VA. Thats nearby Leesburg. VA, NVA dc metro area... they carry those bikes. Go and check if they work for u, at least u'll have a better impression about the size and stuff...

i know a few dudes here in SF that rock the Pista concept, both the black/celeste and the full celeste versions. they all ride hard as hell on the streets AND do wheelie/skid tricks, so i'd say that they hold up very well. personally, i like the matte black finish of the older ones better. heal up quickly and get yourself one!

the celeste ones are so nice looking. i cant stand pistas but the concept is awesome. would aluminum on the road be pretty rough?

They'll be fine. Theres a lot of hard riders in SF who use them, and my roomate rides a cannondale track (alu as well) and its gravy.

I really like them alot. Have never ridden one but aluminum isnt that rigid IMO. With a carbon fork you should be ok. And it will hold up just fine for a longggg time.
Just please no fights about the fatigue rates of steel vs. aluminum vs. carbon haha.

Emi rides one pretty hard on the street. I've seen photos of him doing some pretty crazy tricks on one.

They're super stiff which can be both a good and bad thing. Wonderfully light, one of the few Alu bikes I would ever consider owning (mainly for the track though).
Also if you aren't a bad-a** brakeless rider, remember the stock fork is not drilled for brakes so you may have to throw down for a new fork.

There's a guy here in portland that rides an absolutley gorgeous one. All gloss black, red phil hubs, red anodized chainring bolts, and eggbeater pedals. Super sweet, fast looking bike.

the concepts great, not so stiff to the point where your in pain after a block. Very light, and weather proof.
