Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Interesting style. Never saw puffy cloth animation. Sad and telling story.

Reminds me of a conversation between two college aged people, that I overheard on a bus years ago. A guy was talking to the woman about riding a bike. I heard the woman explain how her mother was really into bikes. She wanted to please her mom and learn to ride, but her mom sucked as a teacher. She must have said things like, "just balance" and other subtly discouraging things. The woman concluded with, "thatís why I donít ride bikes."

Now I have 3 daughters, two of which can ride and the third who just turned 7 will learn this year. Iíve been careful to not ďmake them likeĒ to ride. Since the love of riding is really something that comes from within.

They all like to bike, even the youngest and she is still on training wheels or the 5 speed tag along.

I guess I can relate to this story a little bit.

I learned to ride pretty late in the game I got my first real bike at age 10. I think I still ride because the novelty never wore off because I started riding so late.

I was just going on what geekpunk said, that she rides a bike now. Trying to look on the bright side. But yeah it was pretty messed up. Looking back at it I don't really see how anyone who rides a bike could make an animation like that. Also, riding in circles around your friend who doesn't know how to ride... that's just cold.
