You and smoking
I just saw a dude in my neighborhood on what appeared to be a Steamroller take a pause to take a cig break. Since we are all athletes of the highest caliber here and nothing is more important to us than sober living and good health I pose this poll.

I have been fighting to stop for years. Sometimes I smoke sometimes I don't. I'm doing my best to not smoke at the moment.

I quit a year a half ago. I didn't like that I couldn't run anymore. Playing Ultimate, it's kinda important.

^a-ha!
yeah, I strongly advocate against tobacco products. I do however enjoy ganj, whose less-than-desireable physical side effects I plan to fight with biking and ultimate. ((hackey sack doesn't really cut it for me when it comes to maintaining physical fitness))

Thinking about my next day's climb home was one of the major factors that helped me not to give into the craving for a cigarette when I was quitting. I just kept telling myself if I smoked that cigarette it would hurt climbing that hill the next day. It might not have been 1000% true, but telling myself that helped a lot, and I sure can breath a lot easier on the climbs and recover faster a year and a half down the road from there.

i used to smoke, i quit about 4 years ago.
I hate smokers more than just about anything.
One of my best friends smokes, and he can't stop no matter what. not for anybody, not even for his kids.
every time i see someone smoking i want to smash the cig into their face .....
hatred... blurred red hatred.

My freshman year in college, I knew this guy that rode a GT track bike (he got me into fixed gear bikes) that could ride away from anybody. we did a time trial for the school team he trounced everybody on a fixed mountain bike smokin' a cig on a bet (the mountain bike was the bet, not the smokes). The guy was a friggin' horse.

I once went hiking with a guy who smoked, during a period when I was quit. Four of us were up around 14000 feet, taking a break and trying to gasp for air. This guy (who was fine) lit a cigarette. Hardcore.
