it's fun to watch nerdy kids try and namedrop belton or monty to sound like graffiti writers any time spray paint is mentioned. some of you apparently didn't get the memo about graf going out of style in the late 80's.

of course, it's a hell of a lot easier to get a can of spray paint.

My guess is that people in Oakland might know a little more intimate history of graf than those in Kansas City.

i can't believe people actually took me seriously in this thread. especially after my extremely smart-assed second remark. maybe people need to not take their **** so serious, but whatever.
and just to add more fuel to the fire.....i wouldn't ever consider shepard fairey a graffiti artist. dude got huge with stencils and stickers. stencils and stickers don't make you a graff artist.
now back to the topic at hand.......

not a graffiti artist!? you may not consider him one but he, in fact, does. but regardless...but my point was that it is probably one of the most influential forces in modern graphic design and art at the moment.
graffiti isnt just spraypaint and tagging. tons of graffit artist use stencils...also, way to criticize people for taking you too serisouly, then, keep arguing your point.
