Recommend an inexpensive, light seatpost? (26mm)

I am looking to replace my heavy steel Raleigh seatpost with something lighter, but am not quite sure what to look for. The diameter seems to be 26 mm, but what sets one seatpost apart from another? I am looking for something that is cheap (<$30).

How about this one? Or would this not be significantly lighter than my current one?

without knowing how much your old one weighs it's hard to say whether that one is ligther or not. i'd be scratching my head though if $12.99 got you a big difference in weight, it just seems too cheap. haven't used many different kinds of seat posts, but the lighest one i have used (and liked an awful lot) was an american classic one. i think they come up on ebay now and again.

I replaced an old steel post 26.2mm with the old style clamping system, (also steel), with an alloy 26.2 Kalloy from Cambria Bike. Much lighter and works great with the single bolt adjustment. They have a good selection of older sizes.
Mine was $24 + shipping.

Second the Kalloys, afaik they come in every size that is standard and have been standard, .2 mm apart. The 26.4 on my bike seems fine for 14 bucks.

Anyone know whether the standard black Kalloys are steel or aluminum? the paint's worn off on mine where my seatbag wraps around, and it seems cromo, just because it's so shiny, but aluminum polishes too I guess. Also the Rocky Mountain Racelite on my mtn bike is cromo and made by Kalloy and seems itentical to my cheap one, only lighter.

Can't read the stuff at the bottom anymore btw.

I am pretty sure the black ones are alloy. I cut my down by about 6 inches as it was 14-15 inches long to start. The adjustment clamp is crude but okay, (no micro adjustment). I know I would like to get a Thomson, but I just could not find anyone beside Kalloy for a 26.2 mm

Ritchey WCS aluminum posts are usually pretty cheap.
