Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Stem Suggestions

Above is my current stem. It sucks. I need something longer. Maybe a little more drop as well?
Ignore my bars, I'm going to put new ones on w/ the new stem.

Any suggestions on a decent, affordable stem? I know a $100 stem would be sweet, but not quite in my range right now.

SR/Sakae make nice stems. If you're not looking for something expensive, you could pick another one up for very little. They turn up on eBay, new in the package, for around $10-15 pretty frequently. No functional (or major aesthetic) difference between one of those and a Nitto pearl or dynamic.

Well I got a couple of suggestions. First is this Profile Design..I know they make great aerobars and this looks ok, a tad pricey.

This is a nice quill stem and cheap

Looks clean still in box...not bad at all.

Good luck!

This one looks like the fabled polished turd. Just get an old alloy stem from your LBS or those other two links. Ba-ding.

Cinelli stems are pretty abundant and inexpensive on eBay. You might have to shim your bars as they are 26.4 usually but they are pretty sweet.

I'd have no problem throwing one of those on a 3rensho.
