perhaps you should do a search for torrin/lucklust and go read the threads (one of which was linked here) where this has been discussed before, and THEN post an informed comment, if you so wish, or just go ahead and read the comments to that post on the blog.

I missed the thread last week, but I have some other interesting additional info. I got an e-mail from Torrin on the 8th of Feb, just after I got back from my Honeymoon -
"Hey! How are you? I haven't been on the forums for quite some time. I do talk to William Karstens every now and then. How's business? Here's the deal. My vision has been improving for several months now, and I hope to be riding again soon. I want to buy a frame from ya. I'm moving to Los Angeles and going to try the messenger thing for awhile (I deserve a little riding time after this past year). I'm afraid a Thylacine might be overkill, but I love your bikes."
Naturally I was pretty stoked about that. Having Torrin on a Thylacine would not only be great publicity, but I thought if anyone deserved a bro deal on a new J1F, it was him.
I've e-mailled him back twice to see how he was doing, but haven't heard back from him. I'll have a read through the thread from last week, but has anyone heard from him? As much as the unfolding drama is pretty winceworthy, I have to confess, it's kinda like a soap opera....except facinating.
*edit* Just read through the previous threads. The article claims that his medical records show that the opthamologist thinks he's faking it, although he contests that they show he does have an eye condition. If the article is wrong, then he'll be able to buy 10 bikes with the defamation case!
For the record I agree with 165 - it's clear Torrin was hit by that idiot, and all the superfluous guff is a diversion of justice. Think it's important to keep that in mind.
Fascinating stuff.

if his sight returns enough that he can ride a bike, he'll have to give the dog back. i honestly hope it does, because that's really all he wants, but i'm not so sure it will. then again, i'm not him, and i'm not a doctor, so what do i know?

Now, the situation is even more ****ed up but that doesn't mean ya'll should turn on ol'boy like a pack of ****ing jackals. Have some goddamned compassion. Exhibit some ****ing forgiveness.

girl I work with has breast cancer. Man, is she a sweetheart, full of life, positive energy, always happy, funny. In the past two weeks we’ve watched her body change from the radiation and listened to her talk about the misery she goes through.
I listen very closely because I know one day I’ll be going through the same thing. In my family we don’t have heart disease, we have cancer. Odds are, it’s going to get me.
It gets me down.
Other anxieties are pushing me down further.
So when I come here after being away for a long time and someone says I’m incredibly well respected and a big role model...well...
It makes my day.
Heartfelt thanks.

then i've seen it without the use of, which makes me furious with the federal governments lack of concearn in making it available on a national level, not like its a cure, but it makes really ****ing helps...
don't let thoughts of the end take up space in life in the now, they'll be plenty of time to deal with that when/if that time ever comes.

Hi latecomers!
Mayo - no prob. It does sound odd at first. After talking to the T and SEEING how he was lacking sight, I found that my assertion of "hit and run is still hit and run" remains: a law was broken and a criminal went free. That is royally screwed. I guess if the driver kills a child next (this is hypothetical), it will be justified. Yay bigmoneyconnectedAmerica!!!!
the rest of you who cannot fathom anything beyond what the media reports:
Shut the **** up.
thanks,
the management.
