Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm usually more concerned with the nastiness of the people who spit out their window just before or after (or god forbid during) my pass. But i guess if you're anything like This guy , you might have a legit concern...

My cousin was splitting lanes going pretty fast one day. Someone decided to empty the car ashtray and stuck it out right in front of his chest. He smashed into it sending a lot ashes and butts back into the car as the guys arm pivoted forward from the impact. Ouch. My cousin did not fall.

And me with no camera.

once i was going thru an intersection and a guy in a car going the other way spit out his window, right in my face. i'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but i still turned around and caught up with him at the next light. after a few choice words back-and-forth, he took off. i think i scared the **** out of him....

Ditto. I was speeding down a long (3k) steep (7%or 8%, I think) hill on a mtb a few years ago and just near the end I got a wasp in the lip. I had my mouth closed but I was going so fast it forced its way in and stung me on the inside of my top lip. It took me three or four swats to get it out. Scared the hell out of me.
The wasp probably never saw it coming.

In little league I played second base and in the middle of an inning once a bee flew between my waistline and nascent pubic hair region and stung me. Hard. I started hooting and running around and the game was disrupted between pitches and a freakin' DOCTOR came out of the stands to see what was wrong with the tard in the infield. Pretty freaking embarassing with the hands down the pants, etc.

Kinda funny now, though.

I got stung on the eyelid when I was little by a wasp that flew into the car through the tiniest crack in the window. It pretty much went stinger-first right into my eye and I had no idea what was going on until my brother spotted the wasp in the car. I also stepped on a buried wasp's nest when I was little and got stung so much that I lost consciousness. Now they call me WASP man, because it describes me perfectly!

I too did the same thing! I was picking berries with my mom in a forest in austria and i saw a bunch of moose and without looking stepped into a massive nest on the ground. Supposedly i was stung so many times that i was unrecognizable as a human. More recently i got stung on the front of my neck while riding. Bee stings = not fun(ny)

i was traumatized so now i run like a girl from bees
