Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

selling your attachment

so, i just threw my first track bike up on ebay tonight. and of course we have attachments so it's sad to see something you've been so intimate with go.

I can't believe it sold so fast. It was on there for like three hours until someone used the "buy it now" option.

now here's the cool thing, i look at paypal, see the name and the city of the buyer and immediately realize its this kid i met last summer when he was on a bike tour. We had a friend in common.

cool huh?

You weren't greedy enough if it sold in 3 hours, were you? At least it has a good owner now.

Once I had a brake lever bought off me in 20 minutes. A single right side Tektro cross lever at that. Not even on ebay. Put an ad on a local cycling page and had a phone call 20 minutes later... Weird. (BTW, I shouldn't have sold that thing... silly me)

If you don't mind my asking, why are you selling all your bikes? Are you joining the Peace Corps?

yeah. it's like donating a kidney to save your cancerous sister. sucks that you're losing a kidney, but at least you're not being drugged in a ****ty bar and having your organs harvested by a new jersey chopster doctor, to wake up in a pool of your own blood with the taste of vomit in your mouth and a rapidly spreading infection around those poorly-done sutures in your lower back.

Why didn't you post it on CL?

I'm sure you could of avoiding the fees & time spent packing it up.

Chicago's CL stinks but when I sold my Merlin on SFCL it went fast!
