that's not unique to his bikes. My fuji track (04) came with a brake hole in the rear and no braze ons. The people i know that use a rear use zip ties.

There is a story that we Maritimers like to tell - perhaps apocryphal, perhaps not - of a group of lobsters trapped in a lobster trap. After sitting in the trap for an interminable number of days, one lobster - perhaps a bit more spry, ornery or wily than the others - decides to claw his way to the top of the trap and see if he can't find his way out. The lobster soon discovers that there is no door on the trap and he and all the other lobsters are free to leave whenever they want. He turns around to offer a friendly claw to the other lobsters so they can all escape the piney confines of the trap but discovers - much to his surprise and chagrin - that instead of accepting his help and rising to the top, the lobsters at the bottom are only interested in yanking our homarine protagonist back into the trap and blocking the path to the exit.
edit: I misspelled "wily."

This story reminds me why I've stopped having political discussions with conservatives.

There are times
When you find
Lobsters in a bucket
Can't climb out
Why won't they climb away?
Because other lobsters
Pull them down

If you're going to go to 'market', he would have researched what's available, and what competitors currently offer, and the 'replying poster' was referring to this, no?
Does this mean anyone of BF can get them at the 'discounted' price?

He knows what a fixedgear is. Would it make it better?
Maybe, maybe not. It could only help to know the other players in your chosen market.
The average fixed rider has heard of EAI and probably the BareKnuckle frame.

I'd bet more fixed gear riders in this country (and he is from Wisconsin) would have no idea was EAI is, let alone Bareknuckle frames. Not to mention the museum of NJS, etc. This little group here is more fanatical about the details of the culture than the average anybody on a bike. Just saying. Rip him or praise him, you have to respect the energy and effort going into this enterprise.

No, no, no. I'm from Wisconsin. I'm a freakin' Badger, baby!
My point is the urban BF following fixed gear crowd takes risks in make assumptions about the "average" fixed gear rider (whoever that is). And, Yellow Jersey in Madison is one of the best fixed gear shops in the country.
We just don't care about the some of the same stuff. I'll probably never see, in person, a Barknuckle frame in my life.
Without BFFG just wouldn't have the exposure.

Oh, I know - I didn't mean to be chippy with the comment. I was just reflecting on my own puny lack of knowledge on things fixed and how punier it would be without BFFG. Props to the peeps.

He's a pretty cool guy from my short e-mails back and forth. He'll send you a pdf of the frame specs if you ask. He's putting some money out to invest in this thing, so I'm sure he put the rear brake mount in there for variety -- it's more marketable, and I think there are some areas where brakes are required. I don't know where those places are though. He said the frames will be available end of July early August, if I remember correctly.
Looks like a solid frame though. I'm strongly considering one, though I don't know if I want to wait until towards the end of summer for the frame. If the price stays right, I may get one then, since my girlfriend is moving down around then and she'll need something.

to really succeed in this entry level track frame business you need the hot colors! not brown and black..
"we only sell track bikes in neon and fluorescents." now that would sell me.
