Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

messenger jobs

I live in Houston Texas and I was wondering if any one knew how to get a job being a messenger. And what all do you do for the job besides deliver messages?

Hmmmm

Drink coffee.

I was once known to stop women in the street and ask them to straddle my steed and capture the moment on film.

Now I'm married (3 months today!)

I take pictures of flowers, sunsets, and people driving whilst on the phone.

I have a number of a place that's often hiring messengers in the Houston Chronicle with the line "experience preferred but not required". I'll look it up this afternoon and send it your way.

Goto 600 Travis and ask, or just walk into a low end company like citicouriers and you'll get hired, presuming you're breathing and such

Go to office. Apply. Call back a couple of days later...

Deliver anything that fits in your bag and some stuff that doesn't.

Basically, each city has at least 1 or more ****ty messenger companies that pay **** and make you work like a dog. At those companies, the turnover rate is pretty high which results in messenger openings all the time. Also, all companies go through ups and downs with messengers because some quit or get injured. Just call around.

i feel like i have to piss all day while i'm messing about town (coffee + water all day). i know where all the unlocked office tower washrooms are now...nice that the art gallery with a washroom for all to use is right in the center of town. i can hold a piss while riding for miles...its the standing in the elevator part that really gets me dancing...
