Oh hell yes.... wahahahaha

I built up my geared road bike about two months ago and have been commuting and getting around town on it. Prior to that I'd been a dyed-in-the-wool fixed gear person. I've had my share of fun and headaches with gears. Going really effing fast on downhills and flats is fun, small gears to finally let me best some of the gnarliest hills SF has to throw at me are pretty gratifying, etc. Sluggish climbing on moderate grades, clicks and clunks and out-of-whack derailleur behavior have been a challenge but not too bad. Overall, it's been fun.

Then this morning, I found this taped to my helmet:

Aww, she missed me! I couldn't help but take her out of the corner and commute fixed for the day.
I recently got into clipless. Clips and straps have always been the bane of my existence. Too loose, too tight, clips dragging on the sidewalk, not enough holding power, too hard to deal with when drunk, etc. My Eggbeaters were part of the roadbike build and I've been loving them.

So, I put them on the fixed for the hell of it, and took off for work.

Whoa ****ing **** damn.

I had completely forgotten what a blast riding fixed was. Plus, with the clipless I was skipping and skidding all over just for the fun of it, not even touching the brake for most of the trip.

Too much fun. The geared might feel a little lonely for a few days, at least :) I think I'm going to take a lunch ride today for the first time since, like last year.

I hear you... every time I get on one of my bikes I haven't ridden for awhile I think to myself "this is the most fun bike I own".

Sounds like you need another set of pedals to outfit both bikes at the same time.
