New Ads?
Is anyone else seeing the new ads right in the middle of the page? What the hell. I know, I know...its "only" $20. Just pay it if you use it. blah, blah, blah...I was drawn to this site becuase the immense amount of free and useful info. I plan on upgrading when I have the money but I don't know...these new ads seem a little extreme. Maybe I'm just being silly.

Yes, you are being silly.
But, on a more serious and important note, how is the recovery going from your injuries? Get a new bike?

I'll get a red star someday, too poor right now and all my spare moolah goes to a few things with way less in the bank. $25? ain't bad, but i wouldn't do it for ad removal, just to support.

I'm not sure what is worse, the ad or that it's advertizing fixed gear conversion for cheap.

Dangnabbit! You can't get anything good for free anymore. Even the CrackerJack prizes suck these days. Temporary tattoos? What the ****?

They're relevant ads. they help pay the bills. There are no pop-ups or flash ads. I think they have taken a very classy path to advertising so I am not going to hate on it.
I don't have $20 for bike parts let alone bike forums.

I read an article somewhere about the benefits of letting people use adblocks (more specifically desigining your site so they are easy to block, or at least not a pain in the ass to block). They realization is that the people who use adblockers aren't going to click on the ads anyways, so why piss them off?

Feel free to block the ads. There is nothing I can do to stop you.
With out the advertisments, I can't pay the hosting bill. If I can't pay the hosting bill, the site will close down. For the last 6 years, I have ran the site with little or no ads, for years I paid for hosting out of pocket, I simply can't afford to pay $10,000.000 a year out of pocket to host this site.

The ads are fine.
they're not obnoxious. they don't pop up, play music or hover over the stuff you want to read.
how hard is it to scroll the page an extra inch?

Joe, how could I hate? Without bikeforums I'd've never known about Phil Wood, Kierin, Pies, Sparks or how much my hatred of smarmy track bikes is mirrored by people all over the globe. I'm gonna click on some ads just out of love.
