Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Motobecane Messenger = Windsour Hour?

Maybe I'm just foolish. But it looks like, with the exception of the brakes on the Moto and the color options, that the new Motobecane Messenger and the Windsor "The Hour" bikes are exactly the same. At least according to the specs listed on BikesDirect.com. Is this old news?

you know what? I was trying to be cool about it, but this is getting ridiculous, so as of now I am publicly resolving to NEVER respond to another bikes direct related thread, and I'm suggesting that anyone else who's getting sick of seeing the bikes direct threads just stop responding. don't even do them the dignity of bumping them to the top. just let 'em sink. If they're being started by shills they'll die in obscurity. It will be painfully obvious if only the shills respont to bd threads. if anyone has any legitimate questions about them they can damn well learn to use the search feature. there's enough discussion to bore the pants of even the most lustfull cheap trackbike craver.

I am aware that a few real people have em, and are happy with them, and don't mind talking to folks about normal **** about their bikes no matter who made them, but the number if BD threads today is absurd. there is just no reason to talk about them this much. the only way to stop the madness is to shut the puck up. so that's what I'm doing, an I hope others will follow my example. Don't join in with any +1s just stop. pretty please?

I just don't think you can make them go away...to most people they look like a bargain, and you will always have folks asking questions who are tempted to buy them. They temp me even though I should know better. Meanwhile, stop policing the forums. If you are so annoyed by these threads, don't open them..its your choice. Meanwhile, if others have questions or want to discuss it they have the right without having others whining about it all the time. You can even start your own thread for BD whining.

This is why this forum could use a dedicated moderator. We need SOMEONE to delete these nonsense posts.

If all anyone did was search, then there would be nothing to search for.
Just because youve been studying this forum for years doesnt mean everyone has. The same questions asre going to be asked twice, such is life.

Cause for some reason all it takes is something like 15 posts to be a senior member.

There are several moderators who read this forum regularly. This thread is isn't nearly as useless as 10 or more other threads on the first page, at least it's about bikes.
