eggbeaters ebay scam?
A few months ago I bought what I though were eggbeaters Cs on ebay...they came in a C box, but if I compare them to the pictures of the various eggbeater models on the crankbros website (https://www.crankbrothers.com/eggbeater.php) they look exactly like the MXRs, not the Cs. I think I got ripped off.
Heres another example on ebay right now. The box is clearly marked C, they are being advertised as Cs, but they look like the MXRs.

What the...?

looking at the crank bros website, it looks like the eggbeater C's have a flat edge on the spindle for a pedal wrench, where the MXR's don't.
The pedals in that auction pretty clearly have the edge for the wrench, so I'd say there's a pretty good chance they're real C's. I don't know about the ones you bought previously, but that'd be the first thing I'd check.

No, not candys...eggbeaters. The two lowest end eggbeater models are C (chrome) and MXR (mixer). Study the pictures carefully on the crankbros website, the bodies of the various eggbeaters models are different. Mine came in a "C" box but the pedals look exaclty like the MXRs....same with the current auction link that I provided above.

Yeah, your right...I hadn't noticed that. Mine have the flat edge for a wrench as well. However look at the body of the pedal...its clearly a MXR body, not a C. Perhaps what I have, and whats in the auction, is an older version of the C, no longer shown on the crankbros website.

yeah, now that you mention it, they do look more like the mxrs than the c's, with that black lip around the spring area.
Maybe they're last year's model or something?

There 2005 model year eggbeaters. Maybe even '04. What you bought is exactly what Performance bike is selling for $89.99

Thanks for the help. It looks like I got an older version of the Cs, which basically are the same as the new MXRs.
Basically, I think this thread can now die. RIP
