My bike was just stolen
If anyone see my bike in Columbus, or online, please tell me about it.
It looks like this: https://velospace.org/files/bikerock.jpg
The cranks and chain are different now, but it's otherwise the same.

DUDE! that blows!!! I bet the thief saw it, checked it out, noticed how smooth the headset was and decided he had to have it. I can only blame myself.
Good luck finding that bastard!

Sorry, I've been unable to view the site since I posted that.
It's my own damn fault that it got stolen. I was at a fundraiser for cambodia on E16th, and there was this "hit this car with a huge mallet for 50¢". As two of my friends and I were about to roll out, the guy running the thing said everyone could hit it for free since almost everyone had left. We walked over, set our bikes down, hit it a few times, and when we turned around a couple minutes later, mine was gone.
We combed campus a few times last night, and today, without having any luck, and I filed a police report (which probably won't help because they're too busy enforcing the open container law).
I've only been without a bike for a day, and I'm already going crazy. I'm working on getting new stuff so I'll have another bike soon, I already got a fetishcycles position frame off ebay for pretty cheap.

The word is very out that my bike got ganked. Most of the cyclists here know about it now, and a hell of a lot of other people know to look too, so I've got around town covered. But in case someone decides that my ride is ebay-worthy, I posted here too.

I am sorry. I'd be livid. My best bike is registered with the National Bike registry. ANyone know if that is effective. DO you know the serial number. that might help in tracking it down?

My bike got stolen just 3 weeks ago from where I work. A guy told me since it was raining "just put it in the shed in the back".... 3 hours later it was gone. You don't realize how important your bike is till you think..."I've been riding this same bike every day for 3 years and now its gone...." Sorry man, I'm in the same boat, walking sucks, and riding road or mountain bikes just ain't the same...good luck

And if you're not going to be with it, even for a minute, even if it's got no brakes and eggbeaters, ****ing lock it or end up like me.

Man that really sucks, I had my bike stolen last weekend (out of my apartment during a party...) you can never be to careful i guess, I got lucky and renters insurance helped me out a bit. Perhaps you will come into some fortune with this new build....

The cop did tell me something interesting: Because I'm still a student, my parent's homeowner's insurance might cover my bike, even though I don't live with them. My wonderful mother is going to check on Monday. I just need to get a price list together, which is going to make me sad, because the most expensive thing on that bike was the sweat I put into building it up piece by piece.

i meeean... insurance or not, losing a bike is going to suck. especially if you're like me and you get attached to a single bike/skateboard and don't feel comfortable on anything else. transitioning to something new is going to feel all awkward, and there will always be a little place in your heart that hurts when you think about losing your bicycle.
