Soo... I just got off the phone with the framebuilder.

I'm lookin' at $1040 + whatever the lamp braze-ons are going to run to have my dream frame/fork built. Nothing fancy - a fillet brazed Deda cross/sport touring frame (reinforcement gussets) with steel fork with a 1 color powdercoat and rack/fender eyelets. It will have horizontal drops for singlespeed/fixed goodness.

Gotta look at the bills to see if I can send the deposit this week or next.

You're largely responsible for this you know. Damn you and your happiness with Janie.

It's Jeff Lyon. Here's a cross frame he did for someone else. Let the shilling accusations begin.

So assuming you come up with the deposit; how long before you get your frame?

He said 2-4 months, but I think that is probably an optomistic estimate. Late fall or early winter is what I'm hoping for.

That sounds like a damned good deal for a fillet brazed frame. Ought to be pretty kick-ass.

Yep. Some dynamo hub goodness is in the plan, possibly with some dual headlight action. I want to have at least one lamp on the fork without this ugliness:

Lamp braze-ons are pretty common on old British frames, but hardly anyone does them now.
