haha, come on people, we love showing people a good time here.
You will hear from your friends and wish you had come, or whatever, I'm just saying.
I don't know what I'm saying, I rode to fairfax and then drank a bunch, it's the summer and you should be taking advantage of it...

Questions for SF types: it appears flying into San Jose will be cheaper... however this requires taking Caltrain into SF from San Jose. How bike friendly is the Caltrain and how long is the trip? The website makes it seem easy enough but I'm from the country and scare easily.

then again, you sf kids have a lot of big ones. we'll see how it works out for me. that 84 dollar round trip deal (if it is round trip) sounds pretty good....

I think he might have been looking at the one-way, the prices I came up for were as follows:

Amtrack pdx->emeryville : $84 (1 way) takes 17h 45m
Alaska Air pdx-> SF: $153 (1 way) takes 1h 45m
Alaska Air pdx-> San Jose: $95 (1 way) takes 1h 45m
Greyhound pdx-> SF: $150 (2 way) takes 15h

.. thus my question about intermodal transportation.

very bike friendly.thats how we all got back from the NAHBS race in march.the first car is actually bike dedicated.....costs like $7 and takes roughly an hour to an hour and a half.

sf doesnt have a train station. the emeryville one was what i was looking at, youd then have to take a cheap (under 5 bucks) bus or bart into SF.

I thought the 84 was round trip. whoops. *puts whiskey away*

you know if you guys organize, and carpool together...
