Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I don't see anyone complaining of the entry fee. the formula for this is great for out of towners. it works like an all inclusive vacation. 20$ is not alot for a race, beer and food. way better then going to a bar. know this community is grateful for your hard work organizing this second annual event. my joke about messengers is more of a fact. messenger run alleycats cost 5$ traditionally (like a fugazi show). if you want a 5$ t-shirt they buy it separate. sometimes there is free beer and sparks because they got sponsors for this. this event is original, and were thankful your doing it your way. we love beer, and we love tacos, and we love sf.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

$20 for a race etc. seems fair but the $15 that boots and pam are charging for their show here tonight is, sadly, a bit much for me right now .

here's a link to GG Park Map.

PF is "Golden Gate Park Stadium/Polo Fields.

If you come from Upper Haight, you can either keep going on JFK til you see duck pond on your right, then you go left (there's a gate blocking off entrance) into PF. The pavement is ****ty though.
Or on JFK, when you hit 25th ave, turn left onto 25th, and immediately on your right is a path dedicated for cyclists and joggers (no cars!) that goes on for about a mile. Keep going til you hit MLK and you will see a gate blocking the path to PF on your right (as well as some parking lots ahead). I like this route better.
