Drunken fixed/SS trick...

For all you boozehound elitist hipsters on one geared bike who enjoy a drink...Here is a tip I have. I believe it is not an original trick but I will take partial credit. The tip is quite simple. Always carry a spare folding tire for sake of stupid accidents. Now for the good part. The weight penalty serves a great purpose. Wrap the tire around your favorite 22ounce bottle of ale (no 40's damn it) and then put it in between your water bottle cage. The trick is properly wrapping the bottle. The insulation of the tire will keep the beer cool on a hot day if you are going on a short 1/2 mile run. Best of all if you have a water bottle cage on your seat tube the bottle remains upright and there is little yeast disruption!

What is a 1/2 mile run?

humancongereel 05-12-06 04:45 PM

riding really fast for, like..4 blocks.

Moximitre 05-12-06 04:46 PM

Caution. This does NOT work on geared bikes.

No_Minkah 05-12-06 04:54 PM

What's a water bottle cage?

Edit: Oh, and I don't think PBR comes in 22s, so us elitist hipsters are out of luck.

dustinlikewhat 05-12-06 06:51 PM

yawn.

Accident 05-12-06 07:04 PM

pbrs come in 24oz cans..close enough?

i have no idea what the OP is telling us

humancongereel 05-12-06 07:08 PM

apparently it's a ss/fg trick involving wrapping 22 oz cans of beer in a tube to keep it cold for a few blocks. only to be done on a fixie, or else your bottom bracket will explode, which you deserve anyway, you freewheeling 27-geared heathen.

onetwentyeight 05-12-06 07:15 PM

better trick:

or you can just fill a camelback with tequila. It will stay chilled, you can drink without taking your hands off the bars, and best of all you won't have an open alcoholic beverage in public.

we just buy a new drink at each location. I love this city sometimes.

ok, can a beer hat be involved in a race sometime, like you need one to race, and you must have two cans of sparks in it. there can be three different classes, blue for the novices, orange for the intermediates, and black for the experts. I invision this being a disaster.

hmm you must finish your two cans of sparks before the checkpoint, at which you get two new cans.....
