Mess work in NYC
So I may have a month off between the job I'm on now, and the next one. How easy is it to get a messenger job for just a month for someone with no messenger experience. I'd prefer to work with a company that would take me back during other lean times, so I am all about full disclosure at the begining. What are good people or companies in NYC to approach?
I get the impression that Urban Express will hire anybody off the street. Is that true?

Apart from how I feel about this tourist attitude towards being a messenger, this "full disclosure" about your temp status will assure that you won't get any work. Or what you get will be the worst, **** jobs on the board. What I recommend if you insist on full disclosure and want to make decent money is going to one of these hire-anyone companies, let them work your ass off for a month and then walk away. When it's time to come back, go to another ****ty company.

It takes about a month to get in shape and learn all the drops. By the time you get into the swing of it, you'll be quiting. It will be an extremely hard month, but you'll have fun.

Urban Express is the worst company EVER.
