Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Gold Nagasawa on FGG tomorrow.

zomg. its gaudy as hell and the rear breaks(har har) made me barf a bit in my mouth. (zounds! a gigas chainring)
respect for this person who probably won the lottery just to buy matching gold EVERYTHING (tires as well). (and the keirin rear break adaptor plate thing)

What's with the rear brake?
Is this set up SS?
If so, what the hell is it doing 1) on FGG and 2) in existance

you'd need LARGE balls to ride this. kinda like riding in a huge roadie group with an s-works frame painted w/ world champ stripes.
I'd be scared to ride this bike around incase someone raced you and kicked your ass.

It's got at least four or five different shades of gold going on.

I'd just come with a bigwheel. I lost? boohoo, at least I don't have to lug it out to the garbage tomorrow.

Oh, and my ride is already loose. Zing!

It's a keirin brake for temporary use. I know they make them for the front too.

I know that it's a temporary keirin brake, I guess I was asking "Why only a rear?"

I knew someone would start a thread about this bike, either here or on FGG. The fact the golds dont match is one thing, the rear brake is just random. The rear brake and zip ties make absolutely no sense. Also, where are the gold pedals? Im sure they had the money for the whole set, the gold ones would have looked better but Im sure they just wanted to use their old shoes.

wow. i think a well-planned out conversion of even the cheapest order is far superior than an overly-blingy multi-thousand dollar ride.

something just seems wrong about an all-gold fixed gear. jesus ****ing christ. i don't want to hate, but...damn. it seems so...antithetical...to so many things about fixed gear. the d.i.y. ethic so prevalent in the scene, for instance.

and rear brake...i guess if you're going to put a brake on, might as well make it the most useless of the two, and spend craploads on importing it and then use zipties to hold it on.
