Bandanas As The New Top Tube Protectors?

I guess frame pads & Kashimaxs are out, bandanas are in. It's tough to keep up with the kids are doing these days but I like it, it kinda looks like all Mad Max! You know, when there's no more gas & we battle each other in the desert on our fixies!

Exhibit #1

Don't trends go from France, UK, Japan, NY, then LA...ect...

Chicago's right above Green Bay, WI on that list. Ooooh SF, la de da!

Not new at all.
I did that to my bike over two years ago, so I harbor no illusions of "starting" it, so I assume it had been done well before that.
If Green Bay is below Chicago, where does that put Milwaukee on the trend totom poll?
A lot cheaper than either frame pads or Kashimax.

I never got Green Bay, I always keep looking for the city. I figured if they had a football team there was some semblance of a city.

I'd get a Confederate flag for mine, I can have the first General Lee themed fixie!

I dig it, I guess.

That bike reminds me of the last screamo show I went to.

Just be careful what color you choose. the color of your bandana says a lot about you and your ah... preferences

Sorry dude, I'm saving my dough to eat crab down by the bay this weekend.

Though I might need one, I started to sweat when I eat. Just like good ol' Andy Sipowitz.

On a side note, that saddle and bar/stem combo is just terrible.

Maybe IRO should make their own track specific stems.

I was thinking the same thing. How the hell would you ride that? It looks bad enough even for an upright position, I can't image riding that in the drops.

i'd much rather see it as a top tube protector than covering someone's mouth on a myspace picture while posing with a brand new track bike.

i think we need to work together to make a bikeforums version of that bandana list. the official bikeforums spokecard could be a similar reference list.

for example:

WHITE w/MULTICOLOR Dots Left: hosting a ride right: looking for a group ride
Brown Lace Left: steerer tube uncut Right: likes steerer tubes uncut
Dark Red: Left: riding brakeless/clipless Right: will ride brakeless/clipless
Brown: Left: skidder Right: looking for skidding instruction

etc, etc

i use electrical tape...

los angeles is the burial ground of fashion.. the end of the line.. and the bandana is dying a cruel, hard, albeit too slow, death over here...im just trying to do people a favor... bandanas are the next "no way.. wasnt me.,.. i never rocked that ****" accessory...if you quit now.. people might actually believe you

I was glad I happened upon this thread when I did.

I was able to dig out two old bandanas I had and use them to wipe the mastik off a freshly glued wheel. Thanks BikeForums!

Doesn't anybody in the States use hockey tape, or is that just a Canadian thing?

Me, I used to use rolls of Benotto handlebar tape back when stores were dumping the stuff like last year's fad. It made for a fancy bike.

Isn't anything to do with Hockey a Canadian thing?
